Mini Sweet Pepper Farm Re-Design

Florida, USA

A group of investors bought a farm and decided to grow organic certified mini sweet peppers. It was very lucrative at first but they found that each year the yields were lower, to the point of not being profitable anymore. We were contracted and flown in to troubleshoot their issue and save a business on the brink of collapse. The continuous monoculture growing of peppers even if it was organic, depleted the soil of organic matter, and essential micronutrients, and was a pepper pest breeding ground. Our consultation developed a low-cost plan to return to high yields within a season using a regenerative design where cover crops and no-till became a saving grace..
